Lone survivor
From on board the Army Blackhawk helicopter, the aerial aftermath of Hurricane Ike is evident. Hurricane Ike caused the devastation of Bolivar Island on the Texas coast, where Ike made landfall as a category 2-3 hurricane. Only one house survived this neighborhood amongst hundreds that were completely wiped out due to the storm surge. September 19, 2008 (Air Force photo by SMSgt Elizabeth Gilbert) Cleared
