    A call went out to the masses - their presence is needed, as battle is near. Warriors gather in twos and threes until the full number arrive. The siren sounds. “ALARM RED! ALARM RED! Move it, combatants! Social hour is over; you’re on my time, now!” bellowed the Mister and Madam Vice. The 2020 136th Airlift Wing Combat Dining-In had begun. More than 200 Citizen Airmen participated in the combat dining-in February 22, 2020, at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas.

    Texas Air Guard concludes Aviation Rotation 19.1 in Poland

    During Aviation Rotation 19.1, in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, 136th Airlift Wing Airmen strengthened capabilities between U.S. and NATO allies through participation in strategic joint force operations and training to enhance partner interoperability and maintain combined readiness.

    Texas National Guard kicks off 2019 Best Warrior Competition

    More than two dozen Soldiers and Airmen from the Texas Military Department began competing to win the state’s Best Warrior Competition Feb. 27, 2019 at Camp Swift, Texas.

    Security Forces Support Presidential Funeral

    Security Forces members are charged with a range of challenging responsibilities, to include the duty of standing guard, being vigilant in watching for threats to a base and protecting their fellow Airmen. Among the myriad tasks a Security Forces Airman performs, the most somber is the support of funeral services. In December, ten members from the 136th Security Forces Squadron had the honor of assisting with funeral services for George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States.

    In the blink of an eye, a natural disaster could strike the United States or military operation on the other side of the world could require a flight line to be opened at a moments notice. This is when the 136th Contingency Response Flight springs into action.

    Chilean Airmen Observe 136 Vision Through NVGs

    As part of a State Partnership Program (SPP), the 136th Airlift Wing hosted Chilean Air Force members July 24-28, 2018, at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas. Chilean and Texas Air National Guard maintenance and operations Airmen worked side by side on various crew chief tasks, C-130 upkeep as well as insight through Night Vision Goggle (NVG) training.

    DANG visits the 136th Airlift Wing

    FORT WORTH, Texas – Air National Guard Senior leaders visited the 136th Airlift Wing on May 20 to meet with the men and women of the wing and tour the facilities. Lt. Gen. L. Scott Rice, the Director of the Air National Guard and Chief Master Sgt. Ronald Anderson, the Command Chief of the Air National Guard, took a look at the 136 AW mission and spoke with hundreds of Airmen around the wing.

    A Visit from Mrs. Rice

    As Lt. Gen. L. Scott Rice, Air National Guard director, met with Airmen and senior leaders from the 136th Airlift Wing, Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, during his visit May 20, his wife Nancy took time to meet with unit members as well.
